The Role of the Deacon
In the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), deacons are primarily responsible for the practical and physical needs of the congregation, acting as a caring arm of the church. They are entrusted with caring for the poor, the sick, and those in distress, both within the church and in the wider community. Deacons also handle the collection and distribution of offerings for charitable purposes, manage the church's temporal affairs, and assist with worship services.
